Hi my name is Jasu Talvensaari, I am 21 years old and wanted to do something fun this summer so today I created this blog because this is where I will be keeping a sort of diary of my journey ahead!

This journey I speak of will be from Genoa in Italy down to Marseilles in southern France and then up through France to Saint-Malo where I will get a ferry over to Portsmouth in the UK (don't think I'm really up for swimming it with my longboard and other equipment that I will have with me) and finally I will finish my journey in Brighton and Hove (the whole distance is around 1500km - 2000km) I am doing the distance by longboarding up and down copious amounts of hills and filming the journey as I go along! (I am hoping to make a short/medium lengh film of the whole journey)

I will start the journey around early September (probably the 5th) and I am hoping to finish by the end of September or latest mid October! If I haven't finished by then, I will not be too happy.

I am still currently in the planning phase of this journey (routes, equipment etc) but have decided on one thing, I am doing this all for charity, I have chosen MNDA (motor neurone disease association) as my charity of choice as my family has been directly affected by people suffering from such diseases. for more information about MNDA and what they do visit their website:  http://www.mndassociation.org

And if you want to help me raise funds towards this charity or just because 2000km is a pretty damn long distance then click below for my donations box, thank you very much!

Hopefully during the next few months I will be able to finish my route planning and get a more accurate distance and maybe even a google maps link so you can all check it out! also I will keep this page up to date with how the rest of the planning and any other ideas that I get along the way go!
